This species should be fed a lean diet as it is prone to obesity. A diet similar to that for a cockatiel is good for a Rose-Breasted Cockatoo. This species is prone to fatty lipomas, just like budgies. Feed them a lot of sprouted seeds leafy greens such as kale, dandelion, chard, etc. My Rosies love to shred green limbs such as eucalyptus, willow, honeysuckle, or palm and very likely they eat some of the green bark and young leaf shoots. They can have spray millet and small seeds such as canary and white proso millet but limit the amount of dry seeds fed.

Known to live for many years, this lovely cockatoo makes a fine pet!
