HAND-FED BABY PARROTS OUR POLICIES |
|
|
We will only sell completely weaned babies to the public. This has been our policy for over twenty years. Please do not ask us to make any exception because we do not make exceptions. We feel strongly that it is our responsibility, both to the birds and to our customers to make sure that a baby bird is eating well on its own before leaving our facility. Weaned birds quickly bond to their new owners. It is a misconception that you must hand-feed a baby for it to bond to you. Weaning can be a very stressful time in the life of a young bird and it is much better off to be in the hands of professionals at this critical time. Buying an un-weaned bird is extremely risky and has no benefit to the purchaser. By completely weaning the babies we sell, we can completely guarantee our birds' health. We do not sell eggs. An existing or future egg can be reserved with a 25% deposit and the resulting baby will be sold completely weaned. Please understand that you are not reserving a specific egg, but actually the next available baby. Thus if an egg does not hatch, this does not affect your order. We do accept deposits for as yet unlaid eggs/future babies and this deposit is refundable or transferable to another species until eggs are laid for that species. Once we have fertile eggs or babies in the species being reserved, this deposit is no longer refundable. A deposit on a specific baby (or if we are holding fertile eggs of that species) is not refundable. Once we have received a deposit and assign a bird to your order, it is no longer offered to other potential buyers, thus this affects our sales. Please do not ask for a refund once you have placed an order with us (deposits on waiting lists for future eggs/babies are refundable/transferable- please read this page). Please be sure before you send a deposit to us. FAQs regarding reserving a baby with us and our waiting lists please read We can switch a deposit to a different species at no charge if these arrangements are made before we are holding a baby for you. We will charge a $50.00 fee to switch a deposit to a different species after assignment of a baby is made. Once a baby bird is completely weaned, we will make arrangements to ship/deliver the bird to the buyer as soon as is possible. Payment in full of the balance on a baby is due within seven (7) days of notification to the buyer that the bird is weaned and ready to go. If undue delays occur that are not the fault/under the control of Aves International (other than temporary weather conditions) or if the buyer requests that we keep a baby here past weaning, a charge of $5.00 per bird per day boarding charge will be assessed until shipment occurs. If payment of balance and arrangements for shipping/delivery have not been made by the purchaser within fourteen (14) days of notification of weaning, Aves International reserves the right to cancel the order. We offer support after the sale of our babies. We are happy to answer any question about the bird at any time after sale. We regret that we cannot answer questions regarding illness, breeding, behavior etc. of birds not from our facility due to time constraints, but we do offer a consulting service. Ill birds should be seen by an avian veterinarian immediately; do not seek medical advice over the Internet! It is the reponsibility of the purchaser to know and comply with any local laws or regulations regarding the purchase/shipping/possession of a bird. We cannot be held liable for any issues in this regard. We do guarantee all domestic birds to be free of pathogenic bacteria, viral disease, and congenital hatch defects. If a bird becomes ill, it must be seen by an avian veterinarian withing 24 hours of the first onset of symptoms and we must be notified and given the veterinarian's name and telephone number within the same time frame. If a bird should die, it must be submitted to an avian veterinarian for necropsy and histology within 24 hours of death. It must be kept refrigerated but not frozen. We are not responsible for any airfreight charges nor veterinary charges after birds leave our facility. We reserve the right to refuse/cancel a sale. Sorry, our prices are not negotiable. Thank-you! Please let me know if you have any questions. |
