(updated 3/3/02)

Our nursery manager, Chelo, is so
very gentle with the babies !
She loves all the little chicks and makes sure they are warm and full of formula. Chelo has been with us for many years
.

On 1/24/02, Chelo plays with a
weaning Solomon Island Eclectus. This beauty will go to her new home very
soon! We have a lot of young Eclectus hand-feeding now and available to reserve.

These 2-3 week old baby Timneh African Greys are sound asleep on the afternoon
of 1/24/02. At this age baby parrots spend their days eating, sleeping, and growing at a fast rate.

Chelo holds a two week old baby Congo African Grey. We feed our own freshly made formula, not a processed commercial mix, and our chicks are
plump and grow rapidly.

One of our youngest baby Hyacinths gives me a silly look on 1/24/02. Hyacinths have personality plus and are always ready to play! This baby male hatched 10/12/01 and will wean in April 2002. He is now sold and we are sold out of baby Hyacinths from the 2001 season. We are accepting deposits to reserve 2002 babies now.

These baby Jenday Conures
are eating machines! We do
not raise Jendays but have these
chicks as we took a friend's eggs to
raise while he is away for three months.

Two Senegal Parrots are cozy, snuggled into shredded, unprinted paper. We change the babies' bedding daily. Our hard-working nursery staff keep the nursery very clean!

These Senegal Parrots are nearly feathered and will soon go to a weaning cage. We have Senegal Parrots hatching nearly daily now. These are great pets- reserve yours now!

These Solomon Island Eclectus are about 5-6 weeks of age and feathering quickly. Eclectus are very shy at this age. We have a lot of baby Solomon Island Eclectus hand-feeding now!

Eclectus chicks at this age can be very difficult to hand-feed! We only sell completely weaned babies. Please don't buy unweaned baby birds! There are many risks involved in buying unweaned chicks!

Here is a gorgeous weaning female
Solomon Island Eclectus. We feed a fresh diet, rich in natural carotenes, and our diet produces deeply colored feathering in our birds. Eclectus should be fed a diet based on vegetables, grains, and fruits. We do not recommend processed food for Eclectus Parrots.

Here is an eating machine- better known as a day old baby Rose-Breasted Cockatoo! These little fellows come out of the egg with beaks wide open and ready to eat. They've got a lot of growing to do in the short ten weeks that it takes to fully wean! 2/20/02

These baby Blue & Gold Macaws are
about two weeks old and their eyes will open soon. These are very early season babies! 2/20/02

Here are four Vosmaeri Eclectus
Parrots on 2/20/02. These are all sold
but we are taking deposits now to reserve just-hatched babies and eggs
of Vosmaeri Eclectus.

 There playful baby Senegal, Meyer's
and Red-Bellied Parrots are learning balance and coordination as they crawl about on their play area on 2/27/02.

This baby Jardine Parrot is not quite perching as yet on 2/27/02. She will go to a weaning cage in a few more days and then will learn to eat by herself, weaning in another 4-5 weeks time.

This baby Orange-Bellied Senegal Parrot is learning to eat a peanut on 2/27/02. Baby parrots learn to eat by themselves
by literally stumbling into foodstuffs, playing with them, and then learning that
the items are edible. Once a baby bird learns to eat on its own, it is considered
to be fully weaned.

This weaning baby Red-Bellied Parrot has been DNA sexed as a female. Although this species is dimporphic, coloration in not necessarily indicative of gender when the bird is in juvenile plumage. This sweet baby will be going to her new home soon.

Here is a group of weaning Solomon Island and Vosmaeri Eclectus on 3/3/02. We do
not recommend feeding processed food to Eclectus Parrots. Please read this new
article by Laurella desborough and Brian Speer, DVM.
